Assassination and tactical squad that takes orders directly from the KAGE They usually work in teams formed according to the requirements of the mission to ensure Success. They are Hand-picked by Kage, chosen accordingly for their individual capabilities and special skills.They can be picked from anbu squad and reassigned anywhere else as in case of Kakashi Hatake or Yamato. Kakashi was the Anbu leader but he was reassigned By 3rd Hokage from Anbu squad to regular Jounin . Anbu usually wear masks even in their own village as for identity to village and the elders of village.
There is an Other Branch of Anbu known as 'ROOT' under direct command of Danzo.
Most Anbu wear mask to conceal their identity. The also have standard uniforms consist of black clothing upon which grey flak jacket, metal arms guards gloves.3 ninja pouches and a signature spiral tattoo on their shoulder. Leader wear white cloaks.
